According to ESPN, this was the first time the #1 AP ranking team played in a quadruple overtime game. It was the first time since 1976 that UNC had entered such a match. Alabama beat the No. 1 team for the first time since 2004.
Love shot 13-of-36 from the floor, had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals as the Tar Heels (5-2) lost their second straight game.
The Crimson Tide was led by Mark Sears with 24 points and 5 assists. Bediaco added 14 points and 16 rebounds, Brandon Miller added 14 points and 7 boards, and Noah Gurley added 13 points and 6 boards. As a substitute, Jarvon Quinally scored 21 points and assisted eight on 26 shooting.

Julian Strother scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Bulldogs beat the Musketeers to the Phil Knight Legacy third-place play-off.
Drew Timm added 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds as the Bulldogs bounced back from Friday’s 84-66 loss to No. 24 Purdue. Anton Watson had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals, Nolan Hickman had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Russell Bolton had 13 points and 6 assists.
Jack Nanji scored a season-high 25 points, while Colby Jones matched the Musketeers’ season-high 22. Zach Fremantle scored 14 and Sule Boom scored 10.

Zach Edey’s 21 points and 12 rebounds helped the Boilermakers overtake the Blue Devils in the Phil Knight Legacy championship game.
Fletcher Loyer added 18 points for the Boilermakers and hit four 3-pointers. The Boilermakers have beaten two top 10 teams in three days, after his victory over No. 6 Gonzaga in Friday night’s semifinals.
The Blue Devils had no field goals in the final nine minutes and made one successful free throw during that stretch. Tyrese Proctor scored his 16 points and Kyle Filipowski and Jeremy Roach both scored his 14 points. The Blue Devils were 3-pointers and he was 2-for-19.
No. 12 Michigan 78, Portland 77
Tyson Walker led a balanced effort with 16 points while the Spartans held off the pilots in the Phil Knight Invitational fifth place play-off.
Pierre Brooks had 15 points, Joey Hauser had 14 points and 7 rebounds, and AJ Hoggard had 12 points and 9 assists.
Tyler Robertson and Alden Applewhite led the pilots with 16 points each. Christian Sjölund added 15 points to the pilot who scored the last eight points.
No. 13 Auburn 65, St. Louis 60
Wendell Green Jr., KD Johnson and Allen Flanigan won 11-0 late in the second half, giving the Tigers a hard-fought win for the Billikens.
Green scored a team-high 14 points in the first half and scored 22. He also recorded four rebounds for the Tigers. Green, Johnson (9 points) and Flanigan (7 points, 10 rebounds) were in the midst of a late surge with nine total points in his 3:18 at the end. Tigers’ Joni Bloom has 11 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks, while Jaylin Williams has nine points and six rebounds.
Javon Pickett had 16 points, including a team-high 10 in the first half, and 5 rebounds for the Billikens. Gibson his Zimmerson had his 12 points and 6 rebounds and Yuri Collins had his 10 points and 9 assists.
No. 19 UCLA 81, Veralumine 60
Jaime Jaquez Jr. shot 13-of-17 from the floor and led the four Bruins scorers in double digits with a season-high 27 points.
The Bruins finished with a season-high 60.8{ea2cba5bdf6fe62bbe85e24807814144a71e77d3ae7311fbc27a008558d1372c} shooting 31-of-51 from the floor and a 28-of-35 shooting from inside the 3-point arc. The Bruins scored 25 of his 31 field goals from assists, including his season-high 10 points from Tiger Campbell.
The Knights went 11/32 from three-point range, but were bogged down by a large number of turnovers and an inability to score inside. Ben Jonson led Bellarmin with his 20 points and Kurt Hop added his 16 points.
No. 20 UConn 71, Iowa 53
Reserve Donovan Klingan completed his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the Huskies’ win over the Cyclones in the championship game at the Phil Knight Invitational in Portland, Oregon.
UConn (8-0) had a shaky performance at times as they overcame a quiet night from standout big man Adam Sanogo, who had 19 turnovers and foul trouble holding him to four points in 22 minutes. Despite that, he remained undefeated.
Osun Osunnyi led the Cyclones with 14 points (5-1), but Iowa State recovered its offensive rhythm after shooting 40.7 percent to win five points over top-ranked North Carolina. I had a hard time grasping it.
