Former Governor of South Carolina. Nikki Haley will announce her presidential run in the coming weeks, a source familiar with the matter told ABC News.
An announcement is likely to be made in mid-February, and invitations will be sent out to her supporters in the coming days, according to sources.
Haley, who served as former President Donald Trump’s U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, has previously said she did not intend to speak out against Trump.
“If President Trump were to run, I would not run and would talk to him about it,” Haley told the Associated Press in 2021.
The former governor has since retracted those comments and called for a new generation of leadership.
Just a few days ago, Trump told reporters that he recently received a call from Haley. “She called me and said she wanted to look into it. I said you should,” Trump told reporters over the weekend.
ABC News reached out to Haley’s team for comment.
