Tuesday’s announcement is the first of many expected to be the leading candidates for the Labor Commission.

All 10 statewide seats will be on the ballot in November 2024. The seat is her four-year term and is elected in the presidential and gubernatorial election cycles.

Like the Labor Commissioner, there may be some vacancies without an incumbent, depending on whether Treasury Secretary Dale Folwell, Attorney General Josh Stein, or others decide to run for governor of North Carolina.
