national equipment dealer (NED) is a heavy construction sales, full service, and rental company with offices in five Southern states and recently expanded with a new location in the Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina market. .
The new facility is located at 169 New Hope Drive in Wellford, between two large cities in northern South Carolina, conveniently off Interstate 85 and just north of the intersection with US 29. It’s on location.
This will be the fourth NED branch in Palmetto, following branches in Columbia, Charleston and Conway Myrtle Beach. The latter came online in his 2021 when NED purchased the Richardson Service location.

“If the company is looking to expand, as we did here in Welford, we can use the green system. This building is basically what it is here because it was built specifically for us.” said Richie Ambrose, NED’s South Carolina Manager. “But when possible, NED prefers to partner with other companies that already do business. We couldn’t do that, and that’s what drives us to new startups.”
Along with four other North Carolina dealerships, the company is now expanding NED Carolina to eight locations. This distributor also sells many product lines of construction equipment and accessories that are well known in Texas, Georgia and Florida.
“We are distributors of Hyundai construction products, bell trucks in both articulated and truck models, and Manitou machines, which are skid steers, compact truck loaders and telehandlers,” said Ambrose. “We are also a Yanmar dealer at this location, and we also sell XCMG construction equipment, Dynapac compaction paving lines and Sakai products.”
The Welford branch also carries several other diversified lines, including Ram Trucks’ mulching products. Forestry mulching manufacturer Prinoth. Barco, a manufacturer of forestry handlers, according to Ambrose.
“So we have tremendous capacity that extends throughout Carolina, and South Carolina in particular,” he added.
NED’s roots in the region go back many years
According to Ambrose, the company’s decision to open the Welford branch marks a return to its affiliation with MAY Heavy Equipment after having a presence in the Greenville-Spartanburg area for more than 25 years.
“Even though we have technicians stationed in this area, [this location] It will be more convenient for our customers in terms of availability of parts and service,” he said. “Customers here have been great for us.
NED’s new Wellford facility is approximately 12,000 square feet and features six service bays, including one for shipping and receiving parts.
Ambrose added that the parts space includes about 1,200 to 1,500 square feet, not including the outside area where the NED can hold ground-engaging tools.
If a branch doesn’t have the parts they need in stock, the store can easily get them from one of the other NED Carolina locations, he said.
“We share equipment lines with nearly every NED branch across the five states in which we operate,” says Ambrose. “This allows us to have more parts available. Additionally, many of the manufacturers we represent are based in Atlanta, not far from here. , we can fully realize the availability of parts for our customers.”
To wash construction equipment entering the Welford branch’s service bay, NED installed a self-contained washbasin system that recirculates water, making the process environmentally friendly, he said. . It does this by separating oil and dirt from water and properly treating contaminants.
“Inside the system there is a sedimentation tank that disperses the water through a filter before reusing it,” he added. “It introduces a little extra water into the process, as it tends to lose some through evaporation. The dirt settles and the cannon pushes it back into the wash pan. The dirt is then dumped into the hopper before being removed. Safe To.”
In late September, Ambrose counted 12 employees at NED’s new Northern South Carolina office. Of these, three were external service technicians, three were internal service technicians, and the rest consisted of sales, parts, and administration personnel.
“NED as a company is known above all for its service, which I call our ‘endeavor’, and this facility will help us support that stance.” .
