DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Newborn twins have been released after their father was allegedly injured while in the hospital.
At approximately 4:45 am on Dec. 24, Thomasville officers were dispatched to Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center, according to police. two babies hurt.
Both babies were less than 48 hours old and were in the hospital with their mothers. They were seriously injured and taken to Forsyth Medical Center.
Court documents list the nature of the baby’s injuries. A torn ear, a fractured skull, and a fractured humerus. Winston Salem’s father of the twins, Tristan Scott Stroop, 26, has been charged with two counts of gross child abuse. Strupe neighbors in Clemmons were shocked by the news.
“It’s not like he’s chasing me, but it’s still…in my head…I live next door to a monster now. I need to be more careful,” said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. .
A representative for the Thomasville Police Department said Tuesday that the baby was released from the hospital and is in a nursing home.
Strupe is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
