LEADSVILLE, NC (WGHP) — The family wishes and prays for Mark Ramey’s speedy recovery after he and his children were involved in a car accident in Leesville on Monday afternoon.

Mark Ramey and his two children, 8-year-old Mia and 9-year-old Mark Wayne, were driving north on the freeway drive from school in a Dodge that was driving south. Ram jumped over the median and crashed into Mark’s Lincoln Mark LT.

“We are so grateful that God really saved their lives. His hands were all over the place in this accident,” said Diane Ramey, Mark’s first cousin. Sawyer said.

The impact sent Mark and his children to the hospital. Mia, who has autism, was sitting behind Mark and had to be sutured on impact. My two children are at home now.

“We are heartbroken for the pain and suffering he is going through, but we are so grateful that Amanda has a husband, the kids have a dad, and he is alive,” Sawyer said. Told.

Mark was taken to Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and underwent several surgeries on his hip, humerus and forearm. Now he cannot breathe on his own and must have his tracheotomy done.

“I don’t know all my bones. I have multiple facial fractures and fractures in my cheekbones, behind my eyes, my nose, and am intubated,” Sawyer said.

Dodge Ram driver Patrick Gibbs Jr., 34, died at the scene.

Sawyer said doctors hope Mark will be strong enough to leave the hospital in mid-December, just in time for Christmas.

His wife Amanda has been by his side since the crash. She is an elementary school teacher, and her fellow state employees and educators have donated paid time off so she can be with her family during her surgery and recovery.

The Lammy family told FOX8 they thanked the community for their prayers and warm support through the difficult times.
