The Anderson County coroner’s office is responding to a fatal crash that claimed the life of a man. Coroners said the crash occurred around 4:20 pm on Friday on Shady Grove Road, at the intersection of Mattison Road in Belton. Uriel Soto Gonzalez, 27, of Piedmont, was driving on Mattison Road when he stopped at a two-way stop while trying to cross an intersection and headed north on Shady Grove Road, coroners said. It seems that it was hit by another vehicle that was running. Gonzalez died of multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt force trauma, coroners say, which continues to be an active investigation by the ACCO and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
