RALEY, N.C. (WNCN) — On Friday the 13th, someone was very lucky to win the $1 million prize.
Friday’s Mega Millions draw was lucky for those who bought tickets in Charlotte and won $1 million.
Winners purchased tickets at the Kwick Mart on Albemarle Road in Charlotte. For a $2 ticket he matched the numbers on all five white balls and won a $1 million prize.
The lucky number combinations drawn late Friday night were 30, 43, 45, 46, 61 and the Gold Megaball 14.
The probability of matching the numbers on all five white balls is 1 in 12.6 million. The lucky winner has 6 months to get his prize.
North Carolina’s $1 million prize is one of 14 winners nationwide as lottery players try their luck at the second-highest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
Two other North Carolina tickets earned $10,000 in prize money. One ticket was sold at the Food Lion on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh, and his other at the Handy House on Arendell Street in Morehead City.
The $1.5 billion jackpot was sold to a lucky winner in Maine. A Mega Millions player won his seven-time jackpot on Friday the 13th.
The next Mega Millions Jackpot takes place on Tuesday and is worth $20 million in annual money or $10.7 million in cash. The odds of winning the Mega Millions Jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million.
