The History Channel’s long-running television series “American Pickers” is set to return to North Carolina for the first time since early 2021 and will shoot statewide in February, according to a news release from the production company.
Since 2010, this documentary-style series has followed professional pickers searching for “America’s most valuable antiques and the fascinating stories behind them” in a number of private collections across the country. . Along the way, pickers meet interesting people, acquire exceptional items, breathe new life into historically significant objects, and learn about American history. While filming, they also spotlight the colorful histories of the cities they visit.

The show will not be filmed in stores, flea markets, shopping malls, auctions, museums, or other locations open to the public, release notes said.
The last time “American Pickers” visited North Carolina was in 2021, when picker Mike Wolfe purchased a statue of Abraham Lincoln from the collection of a 57-year-old woman’s late husband. In 2016, Wolfe and former co-star Frank Fritz chose collections in Harnett and Rutherford counties. The show also visited Salisbury, Waynesville, Hamptonville and Concord in previous seasons.
