ORANGEBURG, South Carolina — The 2023 South Carolina State Football schedule has been announced, featuring five Mideastern Athletic Conference matchups, in-state opponents, and three FBS opponents.
SC State kicks off its 2023 campaign with Jackson State University (August 26) at the MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Atlanta. It will be followed by his two trips against Charlotte (September 2) and Georgia Tech (September 9).
After a bye week, the Bulldogs will host Southern Conference foes Citadel (September 23) at their home opener. It will be his first time in three seasons that SC State will play his home game in September, and the first time since 2001 that SC State and the Citadel will meet on the football field.
After a second opening date on September 30th, SC State will host Virginia Lynchburg on October 7th and Tennessee Tech on October 14th.
That stretch will be followed by road games on October 21st in Delaware and October 28th in North Carolina Central.
The Bulldogs will begin Game 4 at home in November, followed by a home game against Morgan State on November 11th.
The regular season ends with a road game at Norfolk State University.
SC State aims to bounce back from a 3-8 record in 2022. This includes his MEAC record of 1 win and 4 losses.
