Spartanburg, South Carolina (WSPA) – A burst pipe has left many people throughout the Upstate in trouble at home, including two single mothers living in the Hidden Park Apartments.

She said that when she opened the door on Christmas night, the ceiling was gone and almost everything she owned was gone.

Bria Collie said, “I went in and it exploded. It destroyed the whole floor, the walls, everything.

Briar Collie has two sons aged 7 and 9.

“My child’s shoes they have, the clothes I put in the basket and put on the floor, they were all soaked,” she said.

When they opened the apartment door, she said everyone started crying.

“He was like Mama. We were going to be in the cold and we had nowhere to go. I thought God would always have you and you would be okay,” Corry said.

According to Corry’s mother, the distress department told her that a pipe had burst in her apartment.

“They had to go out the night before and turn off the power because of the power lines and power lines and water,” Monica Corry said.

Corry said the floors were frozen and his new home was ruined.

“I don’t want to start over. I’m a single mom and I do everything myself,” she said.

She said her bed, child’s bed and other items were damaged. Cory, she said, can only retrieve a few items.

“All I could get was a bucket because the container was attached and sealed. I couldn’t get anything else,” Collie said. “I wonder if my TV was submerged because it stopped working.”

Her mother said the family is currently looking for resources.

“It’s hard, it’s hard, it’s unfair,” said Monica Corrie.

“Please pray for me, absolutely pray for me, so I can get all the help I can get,” said Bria Collie.

Cory said he stayed at a friend’s house on Sunday night.

“I’m thinking of getting a room and I’m thinking of using all the remaining money to get a room for us,” she said.

7NEWS has spoken with the property manager with the cameras off and they say they are aware of the issue and are doing what they can to fix it.
