Iowa City, Iowa — — Chris Murray 22 points, 8 rebounds Patrick McCaffrey Adding 21 points, Iowa defeated North Carolina A&T 112-71 on Friday night.

McCaffery scored nine points in Iowa’s 14-3 game-opening run, while Murray scored on an 11-0 run to close out the half with a 52-32 lead. McCaffery and Murray each scored his 15 points in the first half, nearly matching NC A&T’s result.

After NC A&T scored first in the second half, Iowa took a 34-point lead on their 16th consecutive point. Murray scored seven points during the run.

Peyton Sandfort add 17 points, Philip Rebraca 12 points for Iowa (2-0). Iowa coach Fran McCaffery is now on his 500th win.

North Carolina A&T (1-1) is cam woods’18 points. Marcus Watson When Demetric Horton add 16 points each, Austin Johnson 9 points and 14 rebounds.

Iowa faces Seton Hall on Wednesday in a Gabit tip-off game. NC A&T, who beat Edward Waters 100-61 in the opener, will play at Iowa State on Sunday.
