Law enforcement and school officials say they are investigating the matter.
Catawba County, North Carolina — A police investigation into a possible sexual assault involving a member of a high school wrestling team is ongoing. Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.
on monday, Catawba County Schools said they were aware of allegations of sexual assault involving them Bandis High School wrestling team. The sexual assault he was reported to have occurred on November 29th.
School officials say they take these allegations seriously, and say reports of inappropriate interactions between students are disturbing and concerning.
In a statement, the school district said, “There is limited information we can share beyond this statement for both legal reasons and student privacy due to active research.” We are committed to the safety and well-being of the students who attend and therefore stand ready to work with law enforcement to ensure a full account of the law.”
No further information was provided on the nature of the allegations. This case is under investigation.
